Unexpected Fun

Kari was sitting and the park with Aiko who seemed to be lost in thought. When Aiko had asked her earlier about a double date Kari explained on the way home that there was no way that both boys would agree on going to one together. So the girl had thought of a plan, with her mothers permission they both had went to the messenger bird station and used two birds, one a hawk and the other a pretty golden feathered bird. The boys notes stated: "You are to report to the park immediately!" Seeing as Aiko was a bit shyer than her Kari was prepared to take the wrap if Zephyr had gotten upset.

"Aiko don't worry, you guys haven't been on a date officially as a couple yet have you?"

Aiko raised a eyebrow at the sudden blush her close friend had from Rikuo's simple gentle touch. But when Hikari mentioned food her stomach growled quietly so Zephyr couldn't hear it at all. When Kari also stated that they helped her mom cook it all a smile was on her face remembering the mishap in the kitchen. "I know I am hungry, that food looked so delicious. Your mom is an amazing cook!" She then took Zephyr's hand smiling sweetly, "Did you want to eat yet Zeph?"

Zephyr's stomach growled a little when the notion of food got passed around. He didn't notice it before, but he was hungry.

"Now that you mention it..." he said, adding a laugh on the end. "What did you guys whip up for us? If it was made by you guys, I'm sure it's something wonderful."

Rikuo grinned as he moved over so he and Kari could both reach the basket with the Others and Rikuo couldn't help but grin he knew Kari's mother Aya was a good cook and he was looking forward to eating anything that Kari had helped make. Rikuo smiled as he looked at the Basket "So Kari-chan What did you girls make for us?

Hikari laughed a bit at the boys lightening up significantly when the mentioning of food came around. She waited for Aiko to help her with the food before setting it all out on the blanket. The aroma of the food once Hikari did open the basket seemed to flood their noses and Kari laughed a bit as her hunger seemed to grow that quick off of just smelling the food that Aiko, her, and her mother cooked. Kari said nothing as she laid, with the help of her bestfriend, the food out on the blanket then looked at the boys grinning at the choice of food they had. "Well we made Miso Glazed Salmon, Grilled Terriyaki Salmon, Soba Noodles with Teriyaki Chicken, steamed rice, spicy shrimp sashimi, ribs, and for dessert well..I'll let Aiko explain."

Aiko rushed over to Hikari and helped her get the food out. She could only laugh when hearing Kari name the food they had made and then asked her to point and name the desserts they had made. The boys already seemed to be drooling a bit when Kari was explaining and telling what they had made. Aiko hoped that the boys would love the food just as much as they loved the smell of it. "Well, I made strawberry Daifuku, its a type of cake, cheesecake, candied sweet potatoes, and sugar dumplings!" She giggled a little and took a dumpling before swallowing it and grinning, "Food tastes delicious! You guys can eat now!"

Zephyr smiled and simply took one of the bowls of rice. He never really ate much, which was surprising given the amount of calories he had to have burned daily from training. He took chopsticks and began to eat it slowly. Aiko was right, this was good food. Steamed rice was a simple food, but they managed to make it explode with flavor. There was only one thing he could say.

"Wow," he stated between bites.

Rikuo smiled as he took a small amount of rice and Salmon and began to eat and he had to admit it was great some of the best food Rikuo had ever eaten and he couldn't help but grin as he swallowed the food that was currently in his mouth and nodded to both girl. "This is really good you two i've never had something this good". Rikuo said this with his normal grin as he went back to eating what he had taken and gave Kari a slight grin as he ate he had to admit Kari's cooking was as good as her mothers and he figured that with a little time it wouldn't be long before she was better.

Hikari laughed a little when seeing the boys pick up some of the food. She waited anxiously as her hands were holded in her lap while the boys took their first bite. It seemed like a eternity while they chewed and tasted the food with their tastebuds. Upon hearing Zephyr's simple but more than meaningful word Kari beamed and then looked over at Rikuo. His compliment along with Zephyr's seemed to make her and Aiko elated that they enjoyed their cooking that much more.

She nodded at Aiko happily before making herself some food and taking a little bit of everything. The girl was hungry since her exicitement caused her to skip out on breakfast. While eating it Kari smiled sweetly over at Rikuo when seeing his grin. "Glad you like it guys. Plenty of more where that came from, Aiko made the rice and a few others things, we split the food evenly."

Aiko laughed alongside with Hikari while the boys seemed to be enjoying the food very much. Even from Zephyr's one worded answer her heart knew that it meant alot more than it seemed. Hearing Hikari point out she made the rice along with half of the basket she blushed a bit, "Come on Hikari, you know what you are doing."

The girl giggled a bit before grabbing a bowl of steamed rice along with some Salmon and Chicken before eating neatly and slowly. The flavors seemed to explode like firecrackers in her mouth.

Zephyr laughed and continued eating. He didn't have much to say - he wasn't normally a social person. Aiko just kind of brought out the more talkative side of him. The food was delicious, though. He quickly grabbed some other items and began to work on them when his rice was near depleted.
