Following a river out of Kirigakure about 30 yards, the river forks into two different paths in the middle of the forest. The left path, riddled with rocks sharpened by the rapids leading down a torrential graveyard. The right path calm and mellow with stones flat and large enough for one person to stand on and set their bag down. A scattered few stones are centered with cracks, some smaller and larger than others. Jinpachi had been training down the left path riding the rapids on an Iceboard he had formed earlier.

After putting his equipment on a stepping stone on the right side. Kodaisame was looking for fresh fish on the left side of the fork. underneath the water when he decided to come up for air. with his lungs filled with air he looks around and notices a young man on what looks like an ice board riding dangerously close to the jagged rocks.

"Hmmm maybe if this guy gets himself killed I wont have to hunt for fish anymore and then i can get back to my water walking training."

As Kodaisame goes back underwater and quickly swims towards the young man. He's starting to realize there is something interesting about this guy. He cant get over the ice board the young man is riding on. Just then as Kodaisame looks up he notices that this guy is losing control of his ice board. Instead of letting him hit the rocks Kodaisame swims very quickly towards the surface, popping up and tackling the guy in the opposite direction of the jagged rocks. After they both resurface he stares at this guy wondering if he is hostile or friendly.....

Jinpachi jumped back on shore in the middle of the fork. Surprised that this ninja was here, though he had not seen anyone. He looks around to see trees hanging around above them with vines and branches filling the leaves. At his feet is his Iceboard in several pieces, and now starting to melt.

"What happened? I was riding the rapids, I was shredding these rapids, then this guy just up and tackles me? Who is this guy? His power is incredible."

Not knowing what had happened, Jinpachi grasps the hilt of his blade ready to fall back and charge in. Jinpachi knew he could not take this ninja down if he was a hostile, but he can't let his guard down. "Who are you? And why did you tackle me? Where did you come from, and what do you know?" Glaring into the strangers eyes, Jinpachi awaits an answer...

After jumping on a sharp rock Kodaisame looks at the young man and says "My name is Kodaisame Hoshigaki and I believe I just saved you from a very gruesome death. As for where I came from it was underneath the very water you were ice boarding on. By the way how did you do that? From what I can see there doesn't seem to be any ice here except the piece your standing by. So who are you? And what are you doing here?"

With that said Kodaisame jumps onto the fork in between the two rivers about twenty feet from where the young man is standing.

"I need to get back to my equipment but either way I can handle a fight plus I wanna hear what this guys gotta say. Then ill decide what to do."

Jinpachi kneeled on his legs and put his hands together. "Thank you then. I don't know what you are, but you are no normal ninja. I can feel something different about you. My name is Jinpachi Yuki. My name explains where the ice comes from, I made it. I can turn moisture into ice. I was just training to walk on water, but I was focusing with these everchanging rapids." Jinpachi didn't know why he had said so much about what he was doing, but he felt he owed this 'Kodaisame' his life.

"What was that about? He coulda let me hit the rocks, this guy would eat me too, I can see that in his eyes. I better not try to resist, just go along with what he says. He can protect me, maybe teach me to be intimidating like him."

"To be honest I only saved you because I was interested in talking to you. I heard about the Yuki clan but thought none survived but here you are a living, breathing Yuki. Perhaps we can help one another I too was training in water walking. It would probably be easier if we trained together, if you're up for it meet me on the right side of the fork where the river is calm."

With that said Kodaisame jumps into the water on the right side and begins swimming quickly back to where his equipment is on the stepping stone and puts it back on. He then starts focusing chakra into his feet in preperation to walk on water.

"I wonder what Jinpachi will do, there is a great deal I can teach him. He is probably being hunted, thats why he asked what i knew. He needs to become more intimidating especially with a Kekkei Genkai like that."

As Kodaisame leaves the area, Jinpachi is left trembling in his own wake.

"How am I still alive? This guy is crazy strong."

He picks himself up and tries to get focused back on water walking, but couldn't focus on his own practice, he felt the chakra on the right side emanting from the ninja.

"I think I should reconsider his offer, I don't feel danger, he didn't attack me. I'll go meet up with him."

Jinpachi scurried to the other side to see Kodaisame practicing storing chakra on his feet. He was making strides if he were at the same point as he had been in his training. "You are still here? Working hard in your training I see. I hope you don't mind if I join you, you know what you're doing better than I do. Your guidance would be appreciated."

Staring into Kodaisame's eyes, he could see the bloodlust, Jinpachi awaited a response, his confidence skyrocketing through the bloodlust in Kodaisame's demeanor...

"I made you the offer didn't I, see what you gotta come to understand Jinpachi. Is that I don't like talking or interacting with people very much. Every once in awhile I find someone interesting enough to talk to. Something about your ice style jutsu interested me but enough about that. Come let us commence training together."

Kodaisame breaks eye contact and heads to the edge of the stepping stone. "There is always alot of trial and error but eventually you get the hang of it". He proceeds to put his left chakra covered foot on the water and surprisingly it floats. "Looks like that training I did earlier is starting to pay off". Now Kodaisame put his right chakra covered foot in the water but it starts to go under. So he quickly starts putting more chakra into his right foot to balance out his buoyancy.

"It starts with trying to balance yourself ontop of the water surface. After that the walking begins."

"I hope Jinpachi can keep up with training, its only going to get tougher from here. From what I saw if harnessed correctly Jinpachi can make his Kekkei Genkai better and stronger than the ones who came before him. It'll sure as hell surprise whoever tries to find and kill him. That would be fun to watch thats for sure." (Kodaisame grins eagerly)

Jinpachi observes the movement Kodaisame used and noticed the chakra being used at his feet. Jinpachi sets his left foot in the water half a foot in, and pushes his central chakra into his foot, he noticed his foot begin to float.

Interesting, I never thought of that. I thought you used the chakra as a plate under your feet. Inferring bouyoncy makes sense.

"Thanks again Kodaisame. You know, I'm a sensor type, I can see your chakra being used as a point bouyancy. I misunderstood. See watch."

Jinpachi channels an equal amount of chakra to his right foot and jumps forward. Both feet land on the water, arms spread out wide and a dorky smile on his face. His right foot starts to fall in and he falls backwards into the water. Jinpachi tries to reach up, but has nothing to grab on. He tries to channel his chakra, but begins choking on water.

How did I get myself into this situation? A Mist ninja that can't swim? I am a damn fool. What am I supposed to do? I can't call for help, I can't swim, maybe if I freeze some ice, Kodaisame will find it. Has to survive the moisture up. Has to be thick.

Jinpachi begins freezing a block of ice with his Hyouton, and pushes it up as much as he can and continues to hold his breath in wait...

"Hmmm maybe I should start learning that Kai Jutsu ive been hearing about to counter-act Genjutsu. That could come in handy especially against an Uchiha if I ever come across one. Now thinking about it there are a few other Jutsu I have been wanting to learn as well. Maybe after I get done training with Jinpachi I can get to it."

While mindlessly thinking about the training to come. Kodaisame hadn't noticed he had walked twenty feet across the rivers surface. When he looked back and saw that Jinpachi had gone missing. His sharp shark eyes quickly scan the surface of the river and spots a small block of ice floating down river. Kodaisame puts his hands to his side and stops the flow of chakra to his legs.
After going underwater he quickly swims in the direction of the ice block. He spots Jinpachi flailing his arms as if he can't swim and heads over in a rush. He puts an arm around Jinpachi's waist, Kodaisame swims up and as soon as they break the surface. Throws Jinpachi onto a bigger sized stepping stone and jumps back onto a smaller stepping stone putting the flow of chakra back into his feet.

"I hope you haven't died it would be a shame loosing a training partner because he couldn't swim."

"very surprising a Hidden Mist shinobi that can't swim maybe learning water walking isn't a coincidence and us meeting either. Maybe this is the beginning of the path we are meant to walk upon."

Jinpachi coughs up the water in his lungs. Gasping for air, he stands back up and starts regulating his chakra through his body, to try and warm his body back up. Moving the hair out of his eyes, he begins to speak, "You have saved me twice. I owe you my life two times over. I want you to have this."

He grabbed the water he choked up and formed it into an ice sculpture of a claymore about six inches. He ties the end of the hilt. Jinpachi hands it to Kodaisame. "I think this will come in handy later, don't lose it. Please watch me try this water walking now, I don't wanna fall in again.

First, I have to channel my chakra in to my feet, equal in both feet, and enough to help my feet float. He steps onto the water determined to pass this obstacle. So far so good, let's try walking around. Jinpachi walks about 10 feet around Kodaisame.

"Thank you again. I really have learned a great deal." Jinpachi bows his head to Kodaisame in respect. "Maybe I'll see you around sometime. I could use a training partner." Jinpachi turns away and begins walking upriver back to Kirigakure.

Kodaisame is a good guy, there was something different about him though, like an unawakened chakra. Maybe one day I can help him like he has helped me. I shall not forget he saved my life twice. A good a partner as any, better if anything else.

After Jinpachi leaves Kodaisame is left looking at the small ice claymore. He decidees to put it away in his tactical vest's pocket until it is needed. With chakra flowing to his feet Kodaisame begins walking around the surface of the water. Faster and faster until he is able to start jogging lightly on the water.

"Jinpachi is very skilled being able to quickly pick up the water walking technique. That guy sure has alot of potential alright something tells me we will meet up again. Now im hungry and those fish are looking mighty tasty."

With that Kodaisame dispels the chakra in his feet, heads over the fork and toward the left side of the river. To hunt for some fresh fish to eat raw and regain some energy before getting back to his intense training.
